A laying hen typically eats about 1/4 lb of feed a day, so the 8-lb hopper provides roughly 32 hen-days of feeding — around 16 days for 2 hens, 8 days for 4 hens, or 5 days for 6 hens. And because rats and wild birds cannot steal from it, every pound goes to your flock.
